I’d forgotten that Sylphhead is East Asian himself, which makes his reaction somewhat understandable. It’s pretty obvious–unless you subscribe to some racist and condescending stereotypes of East Asian women–that no one’s going to be any worse off for having more options in the sexual marketplace. The people who really get screwed over by white men marrying East Asian women are East Asian men, especially the Chinese, who are short on women as it is. But such is life. Unlike real markets, the sexual market is zero-sum and brutally unfair. One way or another, someone’s going to get left out in the cold, and I’d rather it be the other guy than me.
