George Tiller Murdered
A Culture of Life, Abortion May 31st. 2009, 11:40amDr. George Tiller, a Kansas physician well-known as a prominent abortion activist, has been murdered.
I’ll be honest; I won’t mourn that an abortionist is gone. But I will mourn that a human life has been ended unjustly. And this killing, assuming that it was done by a pro-life believer who wanted to kill Dr. Tiller, is likely to set back the pro-life cause considerably.
RIP Dr. Tiller, and God bring comfort to your family.

I don’t mourn that another abortionist is gone — but I do mourn that someone who supposedly respects life decided that the way to evidence that respect is to murder someone else.

This just goes to show that anti-abortionists are NOT pro-life; they are merely pro-forced-childbirth. Dr. Tiller saved many women’s lives, but the anti-abortionists don’t care about that fact. They’re so caught up in worshipping fetuses that they don’t see that some women have life-threatening pregnancies that necessitate abortions.

Cathy, how does this tragedy show anything of the sort? You’re throwing around group identifications like they were ironclad definitions.
I suspect that I know, and have the trust, of more anti-abortionists than you do. Every single one of those people has been perfectly well aware that sometimes the life of the mother can only be saved by a termination, and the majority of the pro-life people I have known have accepted the necessity of abortion in that circumstance, with the same pain and regret that attends any decision where not everybody is going to make it out alive.
And I’ve never seen ANYONE worship a fetus. I suspect you haven’t either. Congratulations on your mastery of the rhetoric, but that won’t cut any ice here.
